Mother Mildred D. Lewis was born in Charleston, SC. At the age of 14, her family moved to Bronx, NY. Shortly after in 1950, they relocated to Peekskill, NY, where her mother joined the Refuge Church of Christ. She was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the year 1953, she was filled with the Holy Ghost, under the leadership of Elder Adolph Henson, who was the pastor at that time. She was blessed to receive her spiritual upbringing by some of the Old Pioneers such as Mother Sylvia Rose, Mother Evelyn, Harris, along with her precious mother, Mother Annabell Simpkins. Mother Lewis was privileged to sit under the leadership of Mother Delphia Perry as a Social Missionary.
In the year 1957, Mother Lewis moved to Boston, MA where Apostle Theodore N. Hester was her pastor for over 50 years. She serviced in many capacities in the church, such as Sunday School teacher, local Missionary President for many years, Diocese Mother, Church Musician, and Missionary Choir Director.
Mother Lewis is always striving to be a part of outreach, the NSH, and to join the brothers in the Prison Ministry. Her prayer and endeavor is to be that faithful servant in the building up of the Kingdom of God.
